PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) is enhancing readiness of facilities and services at 14 airports to ensure smooth return of Hajj pilgrims between 1 June and 1 July 2026.

“Maximising airport services is crucial in the Hajj pilgrims’ return process,” said InJourney Airports President Director Mohammad R. Pahlevi in a statement in Jakarta on Monday, 1 June 2026.

InJourney Airports is focusing on the return phase of over 200,000 Hajj pilgrims, ensuring all arrival processes run smoothly at airports handling this year’s Hajj flights.

Preparations include personnel, facilities, and coordination with various stakeholders to ensure services for pilgrims are swift, accurate, and seamless.

According to Pahlevi, special attention is given as pilgrims have just completed a long journey after performing Hajj rituals in the Holy Land. In addition to intensive worship activities, they also endure 10 to 12 hours of flight before returning to Indonesia.

Therefore, airports are ensuring a seamless arrival process, from flight slot scheduling, taxiway usage, aircraft parking allocation, to bus transportation of pilgrims to Hajj dormitories.

Pahlevi explained that pilgrim arrival procedures at each airport are tailored to local operational characteristics to ensure optimal service.

The procedure was coordinated with relevant parties including the Hajj Pilgrimage Organising Committee (PPIH), InJourney Airports, airlines, AirNav Indonesia, Quarantine, Immigration, and Customs.

At Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Indonesia’s busiest, Hajj pilgrim returns are handled through the Special Hajj and Umrah Terminal 2F. The terminal is equipped with support facilities to enhance pilgrim comfort and ensure arrival processes are separate from regular passenger flows.

Families wishing to meet arriving Hajj pilgrims at any airport can do so at designated Hajj dormitories.

Additionally, all 14 airports are equipped with elderly and disability-friendly facilities. Airport staff are positioned at service points to assist, supported by specialised personnel for wheelchair use and health facilities for pilgrims requiring medical attention while at the airport.

“Airports also have health facilities to serve Hajj pilgrims in need,” he added.

The airports serving the Hajj pilgrims’ return phase from 1 June to 1 July 2026 include Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Tangerang, Juanda Airport in Surabaya, Adi Soemarmo Airport in Solo, Kertajati Airport in Majalengka, Sultan Hasanuddin Airport in Makassar, Hang Nadim Airport in Batam, and Syamsuddin Noor Airport in Banjarmasin.

Additionally, Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport in Palembang, Kualanamu Airport in Deli Serdang, Yogyakarta International Airport, SAMS Sepinggan Airport in Balikpapan, Zainuddin Abdul Madjid Airport in Lombok, Sultan Iskandar Muda Airport in Aceh, and Minangkabau Airport in Padang.
