InJourney Airports Deputy Chief Executive Officer Achmad Syahir stated in Tangerang, Banten on Thursday that the projection represents a 2-3 per cent increase compared to the same period last year.

“Passenger movement is approximately nine million people, with an increase of around two to three per cent,” he said.

To accommodate the increased passenger traffic during the Eid homecoming period, InJourney is preparing supporting facilities for both operations and services. “From an operational standpoint, we are focused on delivering seamless operations for our customers, utilising various technologies and streamlining airport operational processes, particularly in ticketing checks and passenger and baggage inspections,” he explained.

InJourney will operate an Eid command post from 13-29 March 2026, with all airports operating 24 hours continuously to ensure service delivery during the holiday period. Approximately 16,000 personnel will be deployed across the airports to ensure optimal service continuity.

“These facilities are not solely for Eid travel, as we recognise that safety, security, and compliance are paramount at the airport. Therefore, all facilities on both the airside and landside are being thoroughly prepared,” he noted.

According to Achmad, the two busiest airports during the Eid holiday travel period will be Soekarno-Hatta (CGK) and I Gusti Ngurah Rai (DPS).

Based on available data, passenger movement predictions at the peak of Eid travel at Soekarno-Hatta Airport are approximately 179,000. The return journey is predicted to occur on 28 March 2026, with approximately 198,000 passengers expected.

“For Bali, on Saturday 14 March, we expect around 67,000 passengers, and on 28 March, approximately 73,000 passengers for the return journey,” he said.
