InJourney Optimises Operational Safety Readiness at Husein Airport

PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) is optimising the operational safety and security readiness of Husein Sastranegara Airport in Bandung, West Java, as a follow-up to government policy on expanding flight services at the airport. CEO of InJourney Airports Regional I, I Wayan Darma, stated that all work is being carried out in stages, prioritising safety, security, service, and regulatory compliance, so that when flight operations are expanded, all facilities and services meet the required standards. Preparations are currently focused on strengthening safety aspects through increasing the capacity of the Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) unit. In line with plans to upgrade the airport’s service classification, InJourney Airports has reinforced its ARFF vehicle fleet to support jet aircraft operations. Personnel readiness is also being enhanced through organisational adjustments, training, and the fulfilment of operational standards to ensure rapid response in any airside emergency. In the field of aviation security, the company is strengthening the security system by adding Aviation Security (Avsec) personnel and optimising security screening facilities, including X-ray machines, walk-through metal detectors, handheld metal detectors, CCTV systems, and other equipment in accordance with civil aviation security standards. General Manager of Husein Sastranegara Airport, Granito W. Hindrawan, added that apart from safety and security, infrastructure improvements are also being carried out in stages to enhance operational facilities and passenger services. These improvements cover supporting infrastructure on both the airside and landside. The process involves collaboration with the Ministry of Transportation, the West Java Provincial Government, the Bandung City Government, and the Indonesian Air Force to improve accessibility, area management, and other supporting infrastructure within the airport service ecosystem.
