Jakarta (ANTARA) – PT Aviasi Pariwisata Indonesia (Persero), or InJourney, is using the 2026 Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia to drive the growth of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) and tourism, with the aim of delivering lasting benefits to local communities.

“MotoGP Mandalika must continue to be a catalyst for the local economy, strengthen MSMEs, create jobs and make Indonesia better known around the world,” InJourney President Director Maya Watono said, according to the company’s official website in Jakarta on Tuesday.

The 2026 Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia, held from 9 to 11 October and attended by 157,875 visitors, demonstrated the potential of international sporting events to stimulate regional economies.

As a state-owned holding company in the aviation and tourism sectors, InJourney provided opportunities for MSMEs to participate through the InJourney MSME Expo.

The participation of hundreds of MSMEs, through both bazaars and the expo, shows how events can open up business opportunities, raise the profile of local products and generate economic benefits for surrounding communities.

The platform is intended to connect local business potential with the large influx of tourists, while enriching visitors’ experiences with distinctive regional products and creativity.

The economic impact of the 2026 Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia is estimated at Rp5 trillion. The benefits are reflected not only in the scale of economic activity during the event, but also in opportunities for local businesses to increase their income and expand their markets.

With activity at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit targeted to reach 200 days a year, there is growing scope to develop the tourism and local economic ecosystem in Mandalika and West Nusa Tenggara.

Through cooperation in staging international events and involving local businesses, the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia is expected to be more than a world-class sporting showcase: it is also intended to drive MSME and tourism growth and deliver lasting benefits to communities.

“For us, the success of MotoGP does not end when the chequered flag is waved. The legacy we want to build is one in which more tourists come to Mandalika, more MSMEs grow, more jobs are created and Indonesia’s position on the world tourism map becomes stronger. This is how MotoGP becomes part of Indonesia’s journey onto the world stage,” Maya said.
