InJourney forecasts 5.46 million passengers during school holiday period
State-owned airport operator PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia, known as InJourney Airports, projects passenger traffic across its 37 managed airports will reach 5.46 million during the school holiday period from 29 June to 11 July 2026. President Director Mohammad R Pahlevi stated that this figure represents a 9.72 per cent increase compared to normal traffic days, with flight movements expected to reach approximately 41,000, a 6.25 per cent rise. To anticipate the surge, the company has prepared operational plans including slot time adjustments, aircraft movement management at airports, and readiness of all personnel including Aviation Security officers. On the service side, InJourney is launching a customer experience programme under the ‘Sweet Departure’ campaign to create a family-friendly atmosphere from the moment passengers arrive at the departure airport. Initiatives include thematic school holiday decorations with photobooths, children’s activities such as airport education tours and cookie decoration, art performances, and special souvenirs for families travelling with children. These programmes will be implemented at seven airports: Soekarno-Hatta Tangerang, I Gusti Ngurah Rai Bali, Kualanamu Deli Serdang, Juanda Surabaya, Yogyakarta International, Sultan Hasanuddin Makassar, and SAMS Sepinggan Balikpapan. Commercial Director Veri Y. Setiady added that the holiday period will also feature commercial collaborations with business partners and digital channel promotions across all 37 airports, including the introduction of a new F&B tenant at Soekarno-Hatta Airport that has generated significant domestic and international interest due to its unique concept and exceptional products.
