InJourney Enhances Surveillance and Security at Soekarno-Hatta Airport
Tangerang (ANTARA) - PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports), through its Soekarno-Hatta International Airport branch in Tangerang, Banten, together with the local police, has increased surveillance as an effort to maintain vigilance and security in the area.
This step was taken as a follow-up to the results of the police investigation regarding alleged theft of exported goods committed by employees of a cargo operator at the airport.
“We would like to inform you that InJourney Airports and the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police have strengthened security aspects and have successfully uncovered alleged theft by employees of a cargo operator,” said General Manager of Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Heru Karyadi, in Tangerang, Saturday.
He emphasised InJourney Airports’ commitment to continuously improving security, safety and service standards at Soekarno-Hatta Airport in order to provide comfort to all prospective passengers.
“We thank the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police for consistently enforcing the law in the airport area,” said Heru.
He also urged all employees of companies or entities operating at Soekarno-Hatta Airport to comply with the regulations and laws in force in Indonesia.
Moreover, he said, the company has a system in place to maintain security, so that any activities that violate security can be detected.
“Therefore, we urge all parties to continue to comply with the rules that apply,” said Heru.
Chief of Police at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Commissioner Wisnu Wardana, in Tangerang, said that as a result of the investigation of the case, three suspects with the initials K, A, and F have been arrested.
“Three suspects were successfully arrested in connection with the theft and receiving of stolen goods, which were Lululemon brand bags. They were arrested in the Karawaci area, Tangerang City, on April 29, 2026,” said Wisnu.
According to him, the theft committed by the syndicate has been taking place for the past two years, resulting in losses of more than IDR 1 billion for the Lululemon bag export company.
“This case began with police report No. LP/B/48/IV/2026/SPKT/Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police/Metro Jaya Police dated April 27, 2026, which was immediately processed by our investigation team,” added Wisnu.
