InJourney declares Mandalika ready to host MotoGP 2026

State-owned aviation and tourism holding company PT Aviasi Pariwisata Indonesia (InJourney) has declared the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, ready to host MotoGP 2026. Speaking at a press conference in Jakarta on Tuesday, Vice President Corporate Secretary Yudhistira Setiawan said the event is scheduled for 9 to 11 October 2026. He stressed that InJourney is tasked with preparing the destination to deliver a memorable experience for visitors. The MotoGP event has become a signature national branding occasion for Indonesia on the world stage, and the company is committed to doing its utmost. InJourney has already asked flag carrier Garuda Indonesia to add flight services to and from Lombok during race week to ensure ample travel options. The firm is also coordinating with the regional government to improve services for tourists ahead of the 2026 race. Yudhistira noted that the 2025 MotoGP week generated an economic impact of up to IDR 4.96 trillion and absorbed 3,000 workers. The event creates job opportunities, including marshal roles for residents of Central Lombok, and local marshals have now been hired to work at overseas grands prix, including the Japanese MotoGP. He said this demonstrates that hosting international sporting events in tourism destinations not only attracts visitors but also delivers broad economic and social benefits for the local community.
