InJourney Chief Predicts 9 Million Air Passengers During Eid Holiday 2026
Jakarta – The Chief Executive of PT Aviasi Pariwisata Indonesia (Persero), known as InJourney Indonesia, Maya Watono has predicted that passenger traffic during the Eid 2026 travel period will reach 9 million people across several airports in Indonesia.
She indicated that the surge in passenger numbers, approximately 2 per cent higher than the Eid 2025 travel season, will occur across InJourney’s 35 managed airports during this Eid period.
“We are predicting that there will be 9 million traffic movements at 35 InJourney airports during this 2026 Eid period, or an increase of approximately 2 per cent compared to the same period last year,” said Maya in a statement on Wednesday, 11 March 2026.
In response, InJourney will establish an Eid Command Post from 13–29 March 2026. All of InJourney’s managed airports will operate around the clock if passenger surges occur and operational requirements increase.
Maya added that InJourney Airports will deploy nearly 16,000 personnel across various airports to ensure optimal service to passengers. Some 3,000 additional personnel have been mobilised to work on rotating 24-hour shifts.
“With the exception of 19 March in Bali, as it coincides with Nyepi, when the airport will be closed. However, apart from that, we will operate the airport 24 hours with additional personnel,” she stated.
Similarly, Deputy Chief Executive of InJourney Airports, Achmad Syahir predicted that the peak outbound travel period will commence on Saturday, 14 March 2026, with an estimated passenger movement across 37 airports reaching 549,554 people on 3,616 flights.
Then on Sunday, 15 March 2026, the number of passengers is forecast to reach 546,984 people, with 3,688 flights.
He explained that this is driven by the central government’s policy of providing joint leave or work-from-anywhere arrangements earlier at the beginning of the period, and for longer at the end (return period).
“Therefore, we are predicting that the peak outbound travel period will occur twice, namely on 14–15 March and 18–19 March,” he said.
