PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) states that the organisation of 2026 Hajj flights at its managed airports has proceeded smoothly, with an on-time performance (OTP) rate for departures reaching approximately 96 per cent.

“The organisation of Hajj flights at InJourney Airports’ airports has generally proceeded smoothly, with the on-time performance or OTP for departures reaching around 96 per cent,” said InJourney Airports’ President Director Mohammad R Pahlevi in a statement in Jakarta on Sunday (10/5/2026).

He mentioned that during the period from 21 April to 9 May 2026, a total of 126,097 prospective Hajj pilgrims were dispatched to the Holy Land via 14 airports managed by InJourney Airports. Over this period, the total number of Hajj flights serviced reached 322 flights.

Of the total flights, 310 were on time, resulting in a cumulative OTP for Hajj departure flights at the 14 airports of 96 per cent.

He stated that this high OTP is the result of collaboration among all stakeholders to ensure the smooth operation of Hajj flights.

According to him, all parties have conducted thorough planning and coordination, from processes at Hajj dormitories, journeys to the airport, to departure services at the airport and the boarding process onto the aircraft.

“Meticulous planning supported by precise implementation greatly aids the smoothness of Hajj flight departures, resulting in a very high OTP,” he said.

He expressed appreciation for the excellent collaboration between InJourney Airports, the Hajj Organising Committee, airlines, AirNav Indonesia, ground handling operators, and support from the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah to the Ministry of Transportation.

As part of efforts to facilitate departures, security checks on prospective Hajj pilgrims and their luggage before boarding the aircraft are conducted starting from the Hajj dormitories.

In line with this, InJourney Airports has assigned aviation security personnel with complete security inspection equipment at the Hajj dormitories.

Pahlevi added that airport infrastructure and facilities also contribute to the smooth departure of Hajj flights. For example, Soekarno-Hatta Airport provides the Special Hajj and Umrah Terminal 2F for the departure of prospective Hajj pilgrims.

Soekarno-Hatta Airport is one of the busiest, with the number of prospective Hajj pilgrims departing for the Holy Land from 21 April to 9 May 2026 reaching 20,031 pilgrims in 47 kloters.

“The smoothness of departures is supported by the presence of a dedicated terminal to serve prospective Hajj pilgrims,” Pahlevi explained.

The Special Hajj and Umrah Terminal 2F at Soekarno-Hatta Airport was inaugurated by President Prabowo Subianto on 4 May 2025. The terminal is equipped with facilities to ease prospective Hajj pilgrims, such as a mosque spanning 3,136 square metres, a waiting area of 4,158 square metres, and a lounge for 2,000 pilgrims.

The five busiest airports in the implementation of Hajj flights during the period from 21 April to 9 May 2026 include Juanda Surabaya with 25,794 pilgrims in 68 kloters, Soekarno-Hatta Tangerang with 20,031 pilgrims in 47 kloters, and Adi Soemarmo Solo with 19,002 pilgrims in 53 kloters.

Then, Sultan Hasanuddin Makassar Airport served 9,808 pilgrims in 25 kloters, and Kualanamu Deli Serdang served 5,379 pilgrims in 15 kloters.

InJourney Airports, in collaboration with all relevant parties, is committed to continuing to ensure the smooth departure of Hajj flights until the end of the departure period on 21 May 2026.
