JAKARTA – PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) has confirmed readiness to handle the return of over 200,000 Hajj pilgrims through 14 embarkation and debarkation airports between 1 June and 1 July 2026.

During the return phase, InJourney Airports is prioritising seamless arrival processes for pilgrims, including human resource readiness, supporting facilities, and inter-agency coordination to ensure swift, accurate, and integrated services without disruption.

Director General Mohammad R. Pahlevi said: “We understand that Hajj pilgrims have undertaken long journeys, flying approximately 10 to 12 hours from the Holy Land to Indonesia after completing the pilgrimage, so it is crucial for airports to provide a seamless arrival process,” Pahlevi stated in an official release on Sunday (31 May 2026).

“From flight slot allocation, taxiway usage, aircraft parking assignments, to transporting pilgrims by bus from the airport to the Hajj dormitory,” he added.

The arrival procedures for Hajj pilgrims are tailored to each airport’s characteristics and have been discussed with all stakeholders, including the Hajj Pilgrimage Organising Committee, InJourney Airports, airlines, AirNav Indonesia, Quarantine, Immigration, and Customs.

At Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Indonesia’s busiest, Hajj pilgrim returns are handled at Terminal 2F for Hajj and Umrah, equipped with facilities for pilgrim comfort and separate from regular passengers.

Pilgrims arriving at all airports can be met by family at the Hajj dormitory.

Pahlevi also confirmed that all 14 airports welcoming pilgrims are equipped with elderly and disability-friendly facilities.

“Hajj pilgrims who are elderly or disabled are a priority. All public facilities across the 14 airports are prepared, including priority facilities for elderly and disabled passengers,” he said.

Special staff are also assigned to assist elderly and disabled pilgrims, such as those needing wheelchairs during their time at the airport.

Airport health facilities are also available to serve pilgrims in need.

The 14 airports forming part of the national Hajj service network will handle the pilgrim return phase from 1 June to 1 July 2026.

Airports handling the return include Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Juanda International Airport, Adi Soemarmo International Airport, Kertajati International Airport, Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport, Hang Nadim International Airport, Syamsudin Noor International Airport, Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II International Airport, Kualanamu International Airport, Yogyakarta International Airport, SAMS Sepinggan International Airport, Zainuddin Abdul Madjid International Airport, Sultan Iskandar Muda International Airport, and Minangkabau International Airport.

These 14 airports serve as the main entry points for Hajj pilgrims returning from Saudi Arabia before continuing their journeys to their respective regions.
