The Bandung City Government is strengthening cross-agency collaboration to support the operational readiness of Husein Sastranegara Airport. This support comes as state-owned PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) accelerates various preparations, following up on government policy regarding the development of flight services at the airport.

InJourney Airports Regional CEO for Regional Office I, I Wayan Darma, stated that all preparatory stages are being carried out gradually through intensive coordination with regulators, the regional government, the Indonesian Air Force, and all stakeholders within the airport environment. ‘We continue to accelerate various preparations as part of InJourney Airports’ support for government policy,’ he explained on Friday (3/7).

According to I Wayan, all work is being conducted in stages, prioritising safety, security, service, and regulatory compliance so that when flight operations are expanded, all facilities and services will meet the required standards. InJourney Airports is currently strengthening flight safety and security aspects by increasing the capacity of Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF), adding Aviation Security (Avsec) personnel, and improving various supporting infrastructure to ensure Husein Sastranegara Airport’s operational readiness.

General Manager of Husein Sastranegara Airport, Granito W. Hindrawan, conveyed that infrastructure improvements are being carried out gradually through coordination with various stakeholders. ‘We continue to make various adjustments and improvements to airport facilities so that all infrastructure is ready to support operations as needed. This process is carried out through coordination and collaboration with various stakeholders so that all work can proceed in an integrated manner,’ he explained.

InJourney Airports is also collaborating with the Ministry of Transportation, the West Java Provincial Government, the Bandung City Government, and the Indonesian Air Force to support improved accessibility, the arrangement of the area surrounding the airport, and other supporting infrastructure as part of the Husein Sastranegara Airport service ecosystem. Previously, the Bandung City Government had begun various infrastructure arrangements leading to Husein Sastranegara Airport as a form of support for the airport reactivation plan. These works include minor road repairs, drainage normalisation, tree pruning, road marking, and street lighting arrangements in the area leading to the airport. This cross-agency collaboration is expected to deliver operational readiness for Husein Sastranegara Airport that meets flight safety and security standards, while providing comfort and ease of access for the public when the airport resumes serving flights.
