The Sanur Health Special Economic Zone (SEZ), also known as The Sanur, in Bali, has officially introduced international-standard plastic surgery and aesthetic medicine services. These services are now available following the commencement of operations at The Solitaire, located within the area managed by PT Hotel Indonesia Natour (InJourney Hospitality).

This move serves as a strategy to strengthen The Sanlag’s position as a world-class health and wellness destination, while simultaneously preventing capital flight by ensuring premium healthcare services are available domestically. The President Director of InJourney, Maya Watono, stated that the development of the Sanur Health SEZ is part of the company’s long-term strategy to build high-value-added tourism destinations by integrating the tourism and healthcare sectors.

She noted that the presence of international-standard health and wellness services is expected to provide an alternative for citizens, eliminating the need to spend significant amounts on medical treatment abroad. Furthermore, InJourney aims to capture potential foreign exchange inflows through visits from international tourists seeking health and wellness services in Indonesia. Consequently, the development of this area is expected to generate a larger economic impact.

“The presence of international-standard health facilities in the Sanur SEZ is projected to be able to curb potential foreign exchange outflows while attracting foreign exchange inflows through international tourist visits for health and wellness services in Indonesia,” said Maya.

The Solitaire offers services including aesthetic surgery, regenerative medicine, and wellness, in collaboration with an international network of clinics and doctors. Participating clinics include South Korea’s Banobagi Plastic Surgery Clinic, Woori Plastic Surgery, Hestia Intimate Rejuvenation, and Mojelim Hair Transplant Clinic, as well as World Class Plastic Surgeons & Lymphatic by Carla from Brazil. Additionally, Australia’s Biogenix, which focuses on regenerative medicine, will join, followed by other healthcare partners from Japan and various other nations. The range of services includes aesthetic surgery, body contouring, hair transplantation, cosmetic dentistry, regenerative medicine, and longevity treatments.

The President Director of InJourney Hospitality, Christine Hutabarat, stated that the launch of The Solitaire is a significant milestone in developing The Sanur as an international health and wellness destination. She believes that international-standard plastic surgery and aesthetic medicine services will bolster Indonesia’s competitiveness in the rapidly growing medical tourism sector in Asia.

“The presence of these international-standard plastic surgery and aesthetic medicine services will not only strengthen Indonesia’s competitiveness in the medical tourism sector but also provide an integrated healthcare experience within a single destination,” said Christine.

Meanwhile, the CEO of The Solitaire, Rudy Surjanto, assessed that Indonesia possesses great potential to become a regional hub for medical aesthetic services due to the increasing demand for premium healthcare. He expressed optimism that these facilities could establish Bali as one of the primary medical aesthetics destinations in Asia.

“The public’s need for global-quality medical aesthetic services continues to rise. We are optimistic that Indonesia has great potential to become a leading destination for medical aesthetics in Asia,” said Rudy.
