Initials of Four TNI Soldiers Involved in Acid Attack on Andrie Yunus, One Holds Captain Rank

Four TNI soldiers suspected of carrying out the acid attack on Andrie Yunus, Deputy Coordinator of the Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence (KontraS), have been secured. TNI Deputy Chief of Staff for Military Police, Major General Yusri Nuryanto, revealed the initials of the four perpetrators. One of the four suspects holds the rank of captain. “Captain NDP, Lieutenant SL, Lieutenant BHW, Sergeant ES,” said Yusri during a press conference on Wednesday, 18 March 2026. Previously reported, Yusri stated that the four suspects are members of the Military Police of the TNI Strategic Intelligence Agency (Denma BAIS TNI). “We state that all four suspected perpetrators are members of Denma BAIS TNI, not from any other unit but from Denma BAIS TNI,” Yusri said. Yusri explained that the four suspected perpetrators of the acid attack on Andrie Yunus are each from the Navy (AL) and Air Force (AU) branches. The acid attack on Andrie Yunus took place in the Salemba area, Central Jakarta, on Thursday night, 12 March 2026. Head of Public Relations Division of Metro Jaya Police, Commissioner Budi Hermanto, confirmed the incident of the dangerous liquid attack on the activist. “We confirm the incident of an alleged dangerous liquid attack on a victim in the Salemba area, Central Jakarta. The victim is currently receiving medical treatment at RSCM,” Budi said in his statement on Friday, 13 March 2026.
