A case involving a debt collector in Purworejo, Central Java, has been resolved through a family settlement. Purworejo Police confirmed that the handling process was conducted according to procedure and that both parties agreed to resolve the matter via mediation.

The incident began when RW (29), the husband of a Kredivo user, approached Bayan Police Station seeking assistance, suspecting his wife, UH (25), was with another man. Police accompanied RW to a location in Bayan District, Purworejo, where they found UH with LSH (26), who was identified as a debt collector for the online lending platform.

Purworejo Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKP Dwiyono stated that police attended the scene after receiving a request for assistance from the husband. “The incident started when a resident came to Bayan Police Station asking for help, reporting that his wife was with another man. Police then provided assistance and accompanied him to a boarding house in the Bayan area, where they found his wife with LSH,” Dwiyono explained.

Following a police examination, it was revealed that the incident was not a case of infidelity but rather stemmed from a debt collection issue. Police also confirmed that they arrived at the location only minutes after UH and LSH entered the room, ensuring no other actions had taken place.

Both parties subsequently agreed to settle the dispute through mediation facilitated by the police. Dwiyono confirmed that no official police report was filed as the husband and the debt collector opted for a family settlement. “The husband did not file a report. Both parties requested mediation and agreed to resolve the matter amicably, evidenced by a written agreement. The debt collector also agreed not to pursue any further collection actions against the individual,” he said.

Following the police resolution, Kredivo also provided an update on its internal investigation. Head of Marketing Indina Andamari stated that the company is committed to handling the report seriously and ensuring that any alleged violations are followed up objectively.
