Initial Impressions of Jetour T1 i-DM: Set to Enter the PHEV Segment

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Jetour is demonstrating its seriousness in Indonesia’s electrification market with the T1 i-DM, a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) SUV that blends rugged styling with cutting-edge hybrid technology. First impressions in Indonesia show a familiar yet distinctive presence. The adventurous SUV character is evident through its boxy design, black overfenders, roof rails, and 19-inch alloy wheels with 235/60 tyres. The front end is a major draw, featuring modern LED headlights combined with eight-point DRLs and a horizontal light strip across the fascia. While the T2 model appears more muscular, the T1 offers a more understated and sophisticated look. Inside, the cabin exudes modernity; the showcased turquoise unit is likely to be replaced by a predominantly black interior with orange stitching in Indonesia. Synthetic leather dominates the materials, but the craftsmanship is of good quality. Comfort features include a six-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support and a 15.6-inch central infotainment screen. The boot space is generous despite the high floor, likely due to the placement of electrical components and batteries underneath. The T1 i-DM’s main appeal lies in its Intelligence Dual Mode (i-DM) powertrain, a plug-in hybrid system combining a turbocharged petrol engine with an electric motor.
