PT Elnusa Petrofin (EPN), a subsidiary of PT Elnusa Tbk. (ELSA) under Subholding Upstream Pertamina, has begun distributing B50 Industrial Biodiesel as part of the implementation of the national B50 mandatory programme. The initial distribution was carried out from the Indonesia Bulk Terminal (IBT) Fuel Terminal in Pulau Laut, South Kalimantan, to industrial customers. The programme follows the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Decree Number 257.K/EK.01/MEM.E/2026 dated 17 June 2026, concerning the obligation to blend 50 percent biodiesel (B50) into diesel fuel, supported by financing from the Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDP). In its implementation, Elnusa Petrofin is responsible for ensuring terminal readiness, the blending process, and the distribution of B50 Industrial Biodiesel to customers. This role is part of the company’s contribution to maintaining a secure, reliable, and efficient national energy supply chain. Elnusa Petrofin President Director Doni Indrawan stated that the initial distribution of B50 Industrial Biodiesel demonstrates the Pertamina Group’s synergy in supporting government policies on energy security and the transition towards more sustainable energy. He noted that the B50 mandatory programme is a strategic step to strengthen national energy security while increasing the utilisation of domestic energy resources. Doni added that the successful initial distribution reflects the company’s infrastructure readiness and operational capability to support Pertamina’s strategic programmes, including the energy transition and decarbonisation agenda. The company is committed to maintaining operational excellence and superior Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) standards. The IBT Pulau Laut Fuel Terminal, managed by Elnusa Petrofin, is a strategic facility in the national energy supply chain. The terminal receives FAME and pure diesel supplies, which are then processed through blending before distribution to industrial customers, particularly the mining sector. The terminal is equipped with an Automatic Inline Blending (ILB) facility that enables biodiesel blending to be carried out automatically within pipelines at a flow capacity of 250 to 1,000 kilolitres per hour. This technology ensures the blending process is precise, efficient, and meets government quality standards before the product is dispatched to customers. The implementation of B50 is part of Pertamina’s strategy to accelerate the energy transition and support national decarbonisation targets. By increasing the use of biofuel, Pertamina aims to expand the utilisation of new and renewable energy, enhance the added value of the national palm oil industry, reduce dependence on imported fossil fuels, and strengthen Indonesia’s energy independence. Elnusa Petrofin stated its commitment to continuing to strengthen its role as an integrated energy logistics company through infrastructure development, technological innovation, and operational management that prioritises Operational Excellence and HSSE Excellence to deliver safe, reliable, and sustainable energy distribution services.
