The utilisation of artificial intelligence (AI) technology continues to increase. Given AI’s significant role in enhancing efficiency, productivity, and innovation across various sectors.

Nevertheless, Mulia Dewi Karnadi, President Director of Ingram Micro Indonesia, stated that the use of AI for corporate needs still faces numerous challenges.

“Many companies, when adopting AI, are confused about where to start and what to implement,” she revealed during the Tech and Telco Forum themed “Building a Safer Digital Nation: From Connectivity to Cyber Resilience” on Wednesday (6/5/2026).

For this reason, she said, companies need to conduct an AI maturity test before adopting this technology. After performing the test, companies can understand what needs to be built and developed from that AI.

“Because there is a significant gap in digital literacy, especially among human resources. Here, we help by providing the necessary training,” she added.

Furthermore, Mulia explained that AI adoption has been ongoing for the past decade. In fact, at present, humans cannot live without AI, such as virtual assistants.

“If you ask anything, you might already be using generative AI, whether from hyperscaler platforms like Google or Microsoft, or custom-made for each company,” she clarified.

In other words, she said, AI implementation is no longer just a pilot project but has entered the development stage. In companies, AI helps with productivity and customer experience.

“This includes innovation. So, if we have good customer acquisition and retention in the market, the company will certainly become a market leader,” Mulia asserted.

Previously, the McKinsey report ‘The state of AI in 2025: Agents, innovation, and transformation’ indicated that more than 75% of organisations have used AI in at least one business function. However, most adoptions are still in the early stages and not comprehensive across all processes, including document management and back-office operations.

Meanwhile, 50% of companies utilising AI for comprehensive business transformation (AI high performers) are targeting major changes in the next three years. This figure is 3.6 times higher than companies that have not yet utilised AI.

This data proves that a clear and targeted AI strategy directly drives significant improvements.
