Infrastructure Complete and Functional, People's School Programme in 3 Cities Enters Simultaneous Orientation Phase

The commencement of the 2026/2027 academic year marks a new chapter for the People’s School Programme. Gradually, People’s Schools in several regions have begun operations and entered the School Environment Introduction Period (MPLS).

Three of these locations are situated in Nganjuk Regency, Bekasi Regency in Cikarang, and Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi. The start of MPLS in these three regions signifies a tangible transformation from infrastructure development into educational spaces, which is expected to open access to quality education while shaping the character of the younger generation.

For PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero), the developer of the physical People’s School projects, the commencement of MPLS across various locations is a significant momentum. It confirms that the construction of People’s Schools does not end with the completion of physical buildings.

“Rather, it must culminate in social benefits that are directly felt by the community,” said the Corporate Secretary of Brantas Abipraya, Dian Sovana, in a statement on Tuesday, 1 September 2026.

He stated that the company views the construction of People’s Schools as a real contribution from a state-owned construction enterprise in supporting the equitable distribution of educational access and the development of Indonesia’s human resources.

For Brantas Abipraya, the success of the People’s School construction is not only measured by the completion of buildings, but by when these facilities truly come alive, are utilised, and provide benefits to Indonesian children.

“The start of MPLS in various regions serves as a momentum showing that the infrastructure we have built has now transformed into a space for learning, growing, and building the future,” he added.

It is noted that during the MPLS period in Nganjuk, all students of the People’s School have begun occupying dormitories and participating in orientation. The school covers primary, junior high, and senior high school levels, with a total of 200 registered students.

During the MPLS activities, students are not only introduced to the school environment but are also trained to apply a disciplined lifestyle through seven positive habits, ranging from waking up early, worship, exercise, and breakfast, to studying, community engagement, and sleeping early.

Meanwhile, at the Integrated People’s School (SRT) 1 in Bekasi Regency, Central Cikarang, hundreds of students are participating in MPLS and beginning to adapt to boarding school life.

The learning concept extends beyond the classroom to include the development of independence and discipline in daily activities, such as making beds, washing, ironing, waking up early, exercising, and preparing themselves before participating in learning activities.
