Infrastructure and Digital Talent Readiness: Indonesia's Homework to Accelerate Investment

Digital infrastructure and digital talent are important components needed by Indonesia to encourage the acceleration of global artificial intelligence (AI) technology investment into the country. AWS Indonesia Country Manager Anthony Amni assessed that Indonesia has great appeal in attracting global AI investment, reflected in AWS’s investment value of USD 5 billion over 15 years, covering both data centre investment and AI technology. AWS Indonesia considers that driving AI investment requires support from various factors, one of which is digital talent, where Indonesia faces a talent gap challenge in maximising AI adoption. Therefore, AWS is developing programmes and training to prepare AI digital talent in Indonesia. AWS Indonesia has the ‘Indonesia Pandai’ programme, which provides free training related to cloud and AI skills to improve the capability of digital talent in Indonesia.
