Infrastructure Acceleration Becomes Batam's Attraction
Rapid investment growth in Batam is beginning to trigger a surge in demand for modern housing. Amid the continuously rising economic momentum, property projects are now competing to seize the opportunity, including through collaborations with the banking sector.
Investment realisation exceeding approximately Rp69 trillion in early 2025 serves as a strong indicator of Batam’s appeal. The acceleration of infrastructure development is also driving the influx of investors and professionals, ultimately increasing the need for decent and well-planned housing.
Seizing this opportunity, PT Mahkota Properti Sukses has partnered with BNI in a strategic collaboration to accelerate the development of the Central Hills project. This partnership encompasses construction financing as well as payment systems for involved contractors, vendors, and distributors.
This funding support is targeted to speed up development over the next six months. The developer is also conducting rigorous selection of contractor partners to maintain project quality amid the acceleration.
Chief Executive Officer of Central Group, Princip Muljadi, views this collaboration as key to maintaining market confidence amid high demand for housing.
“The collaboration with BNI is a strategic step for Central Group in ensuring the acceleration of Central Hills development. This support not only strengthens the project’s construction capacity but also provides certainty and confidence for consumers that their homes are being built by a developer backed by a strong financial institution,” he stated, as quoted on Friday (27/3).
Not only the developer, but the banking sector is also targeting the consumer side. BNI is said to provide Home Ownership Credit (KPR) facilities with competitive interest rates and a simpler application process, as an effort to capture the growing market.
On the concept side, Central Hills is designed as a technology-based integrated area. The developer is promoting the Smart Integrated Township concept with the integration of housing and digital facilities through the Central Connect application, which combines Smart Home, Smart Cluster, and Smart Community.
Its location in Batam Center also adds value, with quick access to educational facilities, shopping centres, and healthcare services. The area is said to be about 10 minutes from Hang Nadim International Airport and close to the international ferry terminal connecting Batam to neighbouring countries.
In addition to housing, the area development also includes a commercial zone in the form of an 8-hectare Lifestyle Street Mall. This project is projected to become a new activity hub, from culinary to entertainment, while attracting national and international brands to Batam.
Amid aggressive economic growth, projects like this reflect Batam’s shift from merely an industrial zone to a centre for modern housing and lifestyle.
