InfraNexia and Lintasarta Strengthen Medan–Batam–Padang Connectivity with DWDM
PT Telkom Infrastruktur Indonesia (InfraNexia), an operating company of PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom), and PT Aplikanusa Lintasarta (Lintasarta) are strengthening their strategic collaboration in developing high-capacity digital connectivity through the utilisation of Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) services on the Medan–Batam and Padang–Batam routes.
The collaboration was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (BAK) held during the Bali Annual Telkom International Conference (BATIC) 2026 in Nusa Dua, Bali, on 26 August 2026.
This partnership is part of both companies’ commitment to strengthening high-capacity connectivity capabilities on strategic routes connecting the Sumatra region with Batam.
Within the scope of this cooperation, InfraNexia and Lintasarta are optimising the use of DWDM services on the Medan–Batam and Padang–Batam routes to support high-capacity connectivity. DWDM technology enables the simultaneous transmission of multiple high-speed data paths within a single optical fibre, making it a vital infrastructure component for meeting connectivity demands.
This capability is becoming increasingly significant alongside the rising need for connectivity for corporate customers, cloud services, data centres, and various digital services that require large capacity, reliable latency, and network scalability.
The President Director of InfraNexia, Lukman Hakim Abd. Rauf, stated that the collaboration with Lintasarta is part of InfraNexia’s strategy to expand infrastructure utilisation through an open and collaborative approach.
“Digital economic growth requires networks that are not only capable of providing large capacity but can also evolve according to customer needs. Through our collaboration with Lintasarta, we are strengthening the Medan–Batam and Padang–Batam corridors as part of a connectivity foundation that can support service expansion, data traffic growth, and new digital needs in the future,” said Lukman.
According to Lukman, the cooperation also reflects InfraNexia’s role as a telecommunications infrastructure provider based on the principles of open access and neutral infrastructure. With a national-scale network, InfraNexia provides opportunities for various industry players to utilise infrastructure more efficiently according to their specific capacity needs and service models.
Meanwhile, the President Director of Lintasarta, Armand Hermawan, stated that high-capacity connectivity is one of the primary foundations for supporting the continuously evolving needs of digital transformation.
“The demand for digital services, cloud, data centres, and various technology-based workloads continues to increase. The collaboration with InfraNexia through the use of DWDM services is part of our efforts to strengthen network capabilities to optimally support our customers’ digital transformation needs,” said Armand.
