Infomedia: Getting ready to take leading role in information business

PT Infomedia has been in operation for over 25 years, and is
poised to become a leader in the information business, providing
information not only by conventional means but also those
available through the Internet.

Infomedia is developing new services to provide easier access
to information. No longer limited to publishing telephone
directories, the publisher of the Indonesian Yellow Pages
currently also offers on-line and call center services to a
growing clientele.

To some, what Infomedia aims for may sound overly ambitious
amid such a fiercely competitive business climate.

Nonetheless, the company is confident of achieving its goals
because of a deep-rooted presence and long experience in the
field as demonstrated in its successful management of a Yellow
Pages database containing more than six million records.

Since its acquisition by PT Telkom as a major shareholder,
Infomedia has expanded with the launch of a second product called
Halo Yellow, an operator-assisted Yellow Pages service, whereby a
caller may get information on both residential and business
telephone numbers on a national basis.

The voice media, known as "108 Nasional," is a precursor to a
third product, a call center service which provides inbound
services for customer information and complaint and an outbound
service for customer education, telemarketing and telesurvey.

These services help businesses deal with their customers in a
more effective, efficient way.

The fourth product, a multimedia and online service, enables a
customer to access Yellow Pages business information from a
compact disc, or on-line by logging on www.yellowpages.co.id,
a web site now being developed into an on-line business portal
based on a directory of over 300,000 businesses.

Infomedia is committed to providing total service for its
customers with a comprehensive database and a network supported
by a solid staff and modern technology.

Infomedia looks to the future with confidence despite the
prospect of competitors operating in the same field in Indonesia
as a result of the globalization of the world trade.

Infomedia has earned the trust of major businesses in allowing
it to operate their call centers, including telecom giant
Ericsson Or, its customer service and Bank Niaga or its Niaga
Access phone banking service.

The benefits of a call center are obvious. Businesses wishing
to use the service need only to contact PT Infomedia Nusantara,
which will then do the rest as instructed to meet their
objectives at a cost much cheaper than were they to build the
facilities themselves.

Looking to the future, Infomedia is optimistic that its Call
Center Service will be a prime product in the range of services
it offers to customers. Customer service is vital to a business
operation, so no company can afford to ignore its role if it is
to survive amid the growing competition.
