Info on Return Traffic: Rest Areas at KM 52B and KM 62B Temporarily Closed

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The surge in return traffic for Eid al-Fitr 2026 began to be felt on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road this afternoon, Tuesday (24/3/2026). To maintain smooth traffic flow, the toll road operator, in collaboration with the police, is implementing regulations at several rest areas. In its statement, PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk announced that the rest area at KM 52B towards Jakarta is temporarily closed at the discretion of the police. Additionally, the rest area at KM 62B is operating on an open-close system adjusted to on-site conditions. These measures are taken to anticipate the increased volume of vehicles entering rest areas while keeping the main traffic flow smooth. “Meanwhile, road users coming from the Cipularang Toll Road heading to Jakarta can use the rest areas at KM 97B, KM 88B, or KM 72B. Those from the Cipali Toll Road can use the rest areas at KM 130B or KM 101B,” said Rivan. He reminded mudik travellers not to rely solely on rest areas within the toll road. Road users can exit at the nearest gate to find alternative rest spots outside the toll road. “Prepare your journey well, including scheduling time and rest locations before entering the toll road section,” he said. In addition to rest area regulations, Jasa Marga and the Indonesian National Police are controlling goods transport vehicles at several critical points, such as the Palimanan Toll Gate and access to the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road. Drivers of vehicles with three axles or more are asked to comply with operational restrictions in accordance with the Joint Ministerial Decree (SKB) effective during the period of 13-29 March 2026. Jasa Marga also encourages the public to avoid the peak return traffic periods on 24, 28, and 29 March 2026. Road users are advised to take advantage of the Work From Anywhere (WFA) policy on 25-27 March, as well as the 30 percent toll discount on 26-27 March on several strategic sections. Furthermore, road users are urged to actively monitor dynamic traffic engineering information through various official channels, such as the call centre, the Travoy application, and Jasa Marga’s official social media.
