Info on Jakarta CFD Today: Locations and Areas
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is once again organising the Vehicle-Free Day (HBKB) or Car Free Day (CFD) on Sunday (5/4/2026), after the long Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah holiday. The event will take place in the Sudirman-Thamrin area starting from 06.00 until 10.00 WIB, where the main road sections will once again be transformed into a vehicle-free public space. The Jakarta CFD arena will be comfortable for exercising, leisurely walking, or enjoying the cleaner morning air free from pollution. The return of CFD after Lebaran provides an opportunity for the public to resume healthy activities in open spaces while strengthening social interactions that may have decreased during the holiday period. In addition, the event is utilised by the government to provide public services that directly address residents’ needs. One of them is the opening of registration for the Free Service Card (KLG) by the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, which will be available in the Bundaran HI area, specifically in front of the Mandarin Oriental Jakarta Hotel. This registration is dedicated to new registrants in the categories of elderly aged 60 years and above as well as people with disabilities. The quota provided is limited, namely a maximum of 200 cards, with on-site printing processed directly at the location. With the various benefits offered, this first CFD after Lebaran is not only an arena for sports but also a means to encourage the use of public transportation and a more environmentally friendly lifestyle.
