Influencer Woodyrman Charged and Detained After Fatal Assault on Brunei National

Social media influencer Mohamad Irman Ali (33) has been named a suspect following the assault of a Brunei national. The man known as Woodyrman is now detained at Jakarta Regional Police Headquarters.

“The suspect has been formally charged and detained,” said Kompol Dimitri Mahendra, Head of Sub-unit 1 of the Mobile Brigade Unit of the Jakarta Regional Police Criminal Investigation Department, when contacted by detikcom on Wednesday (27 May 2026).

Dimitri stated that Woodyrman is being charged under Article 466 paragraph 3 and/or Article 468 paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code.

The altercation involving two foreign nationals occurred in Blok M, South Jakarta, in the early hours of Wednesday (6 May). The incident resulted in the death of victim MHF (30) after 10 days in hospital.

The incident began when the victim was at the location with a witness. Several other individuals then arrived and sat down to converse with the victim.

In circulating videos, the victim and perpetrator were seen arguing. Bystanders attempted to intervene in the altercation.

The dispute escalated when the perpetrator struck the victim with a glass bottle, causing him to fall immediately.

“Approximately at 3:28 AM WIB, the suspect arrived at the scene with an accomplice by car. Upon exiting the vehicle, the suspect carried a black paper bag suspected to contain glass bottles before approaching the victim, leading to an argument at the entrance of Blok M Hub,” said Police Chief of Public Relations for Jakarta Regional Police, Kombes Budi Hermanto, to journalists on Tuesday (26 May).
