Influencer Woodyrman admits to assaulting man to death while drunk
A Brunei Darussalam-based influencer, Mohamad Irman Ali (33), known as Woodyrman, is suspected of assaulting and causing the death of MHF (30) in the Blok M area of Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, while under the influence of alcohol. “The suspect stated he was under the influence of alcoholic beverages,” said Ipda Breggy Yesaya Imanuel, head of the Special Investigation Unit of the Mobile Brigade Subdirector at Jakarta Metropolitan Police, to reporters on Wednesday (27 May). The assault occurred on 6 May. The influencer, with the @Woodyrman account, engaged in an argument and physical altercation with the victim before ultimately striking the victim’s head. At the time, the suspect was carrying a goodie bag containing a glass bottle. As a result, when he struck the victim, the bottle also hit the victim’s head, causing him to fall onto the pavement. Breggy stated the victim did not die immediately at the scene and was later treated at RSPP South Jakarta Hospital. “The victim subsequently fell into a coma and his condition deteriorated, leading to his death on 16 May 2026,” he said. Breggy added that the police are currently investigating to uncover the motive behind the assault. “The motive is still under investigation, but preliminary findings indicate that the argument and physical altercation between the victim and suspect stemmed from personal issues, as they knew each other,” he said. The suspect has been formally charged under Article 466 (3) and/or Article 468 (2) of Law No. 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code concerning assault resulting in death.
