Infinix has unveiled its flagship smartphone, the Infinix Note 60 Ultra, at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain. The device ushers in a design refresh, as its chassis was crafted by Pininfarina, the legendary Italian automotive design house famed for shaping supercars such as Ferrari. The Note 60 Ultra is not merely equipped with a ‘mainstream’ camera module found on most devices. Pininfarina instead designed the module in a deep black hue that extends horizontally from edge to edge, blending into the back of the smartphone. The module is named the Uni-Chassis Cam Module. The module features a slightly different shape, with curved contours on the right and left, a clean silhouette, and subtle red accent lines along the lower central area. Pininfarina also offers four elegant colour options: Torino Black, Monza Red, Amalfi Blue, and Roma Silver. According to GizChina, each colour is inspired by sport motorcycles and cultural history to produce a coherent palette. The module also features a light strip that lights up when the phone is switched on. The feature is called ‘Active Matrix Display’, capable of displaying notifications and Glyph-style animations, typography reminiscent of computer fonts seen on screens or printed material. In addition to the new design, the Note 60 Ultra comes with a 200 MP main camera using Samsung ISOCELL HPE as the primary sensor. The main camera is accompanied by a 50 MP telephoto lens offering 2x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom. The third camera is an 8 MP ultrawide with a 112-degree field of view. The other notable feature is two-way satellite communication for messaging and voice calls. This feature is not limited to emergency SOS messages; users can still communicate beyond cellular coverage. Infinix claims that satellite messaging covers a much broader range than most smartphones on the market. The Note 60 Ultra is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8400 Ultimate, built on a 4-nanometre fabrication process, paired with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. The smartphone features a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,208 x 2,644 pixels and a 144 Hz refresh rate. The screen brightness reaches 1,600 nits, aspect ratio 19.5:9, and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.
