Industry Transformation: Women as Key Drivers

Women’s leadership is increasingly prominent in the industrial sector amid development efforts that emphasise inclusivity and cultural preservation. This role is seen not only as expanding representation but also as promoting more adaptive and sustainable business approaches.

The issue was the main focus of the Women, Art and Society 2026 event held in Solo from 16–19 April 2026. The event served not only as a space for appreciation but also encouraged economic inclusion through financial literacy for 500 ultra-micro business actors, as well as strengthening the arts and culture ecosystem.

Director of Transformation, Human Resources & General Affairs at PT Surveyor Indonesia (Persero), Evi Afiatin, stated that current leadership directions are no longer solely focused on pursuing business growth. “Today’s leadership is no longer sufficient to focus only on financial achievements. What is more important is how to build a sustainable, inclusive system that delivers real impact for society,” she said in a press release on Saturday (18/4/2026).

Director of Commerce & Operations at Surveyor, Euis Emalia Noor, added that industrial growth needs to be supported by a strong and responsive operational foundation. “Strong growth must be built on a solid operational foundation that is responsive to market needs,” she said.

This approach is considered to strengthen the capacity of business actors, increase trust in product and service quality, and promote a more inclusive economic ecosystem. These efforts are also aligned with the national development agenda in the RPJMN 2025–2029.

At the Women, Art and Society 2026 event, Evi Afiatin and Euis Emalia Noor received the “The Most Outstanding Women 2026” award. This award reflects the role of women’s leadership in driving industrial transformation while delivering broader social impact.
