Industry Players Highlight Importance of Maintaining Diesel Fuel Quality
Industry players in the mining, energy, construction, and oil & gas sectors are highlighting the importance of maintaining the quality of diesel fuel amidst demands for increased operational efficiency. Fuel quality is considered to directly affect the performance of engines and heavy equipment, as various issues such as biodiesel degradation, deposit formation, and the clogging of filters and injectors can impact equipment performance and increase operational costs.
Ismy Agustin, Head of Business Development at Biochem, stated that fuel quality is a factor that often receives insufficient attention. According to him, in the use of diesel engines and heavy machinery, problems such as biodiesel degradation, deposit formation, and the clogging of filters and injectors can arise and affect equipment performance. “This can have a direct impact on engine performance and operational costs,” Ismy said in an official statement.
To address these challenges, several industry players are beginning to introduce various fuel management solutions, including the use of additives claimed to help maintain fuel quality and support the operational efficiency of heavy equipment. One such product introduced is Imagina, a natural essential oil-based additive formulated to help maintain biodiesel stability, support more optimal combustion processes, and keep fuel systems clean from residue and deposits. This product is aimed at sectors that rely heavily on diesel engines and heavy equipment for their operations, such as mining, energy, construction, oil and gas, and heavy equipment rental services.
The company stated that the product’s effectiveness has been evaluated through field tests totaling more than 45,000 operational hours on various heavy equipment and generators. Testing has also been conducted by independent laboratories, including the Oil and Gas Testing Centre (Lemigas) and SOS Trakindo, which showed improvements in fuel quality. To introduce this technology to industry players, Imagina is scheduled to appear at the Indonesia Energy & Engineering Series (IEE) Balikpapan 2026, taking place from 10–12 June 2026 at the BSCC Dome, Balikpapan. At the exhibition, visitors can obtain further information regarding fuel quality management and its application in supporting the operational efficiency of heavy industries.
