Industry Ministry Strengthens Strategic Cooperation via INNOPROM 2026

The Ministry of Industry is strengthening strategic industrial cooperation with Russia and Eurasian countries through Indonesia’s participation as the Official Partner Country at INNOPROM 2026. Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita stated that relations between Indonesia and Russia in the industrial sector already have a strong foundation and are now being directed towards more concrete and sustainable cooperation. The international industrial exhibition, the largest in Eurasia, will take place on 6–9 July 2026 in Ekaterinburg, Russia, supported by 50 national industry delegates. He said Indonesia’s participation in the event is a concrete step to strengthen industrial partnerships with Russia and Eurasian countries, while opening up investment opportunities, manufacturing cooperation, and expanding export markets for national industrial products. ‘Indonesia and Russia’s relationship in the industrial sector has a strong foundation. What we are doing now is ensuring that this foundation develops into a concrete and sustainable partnership. INNOPROM 2026 is an important opportunity to bring together industry players from both countries directly, increase investment, and open up cooperation opportunities that provide real benefits for both parties,’ he said. As the Official Partner Country, Indonesia will present a national pavilion covering more than 1,500 square metres, making it one of the largest pavilions at INNOPROM 2026. Under the theme Navigating Industrial Futures, the pavilion will showcase five leading sectors: agro and food processing industry, chemical and pharmaceutical industry, specialised manufacturing and consumer goods, advanced manufacturing and engineering, and industrial estates and investment. The Indonesian pavilion will also serve as a centre for various business activities, ranging from business matching and bilateral business forums to high-level meetings between ministerial-level delegations from both countries. The strengthening of industrial cooperation is supported by the positive trend in economic relations between Indonesia and Russia. In 2025, the bilateral trade value between the two countries reached 1.876 billion US dollars, while realised Russian investment in Indonesia was recorded at 262.8 million US dollars. Bilateral relations have also continued to develop in recent years. Following a meeting between President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin in December 2025, which resulted in various strategic understandings in the economic and industrial fields, the two leaders met again at the Kremlin in Moscow in April 2026 to strengthen cooperation in the energy, investment, technology, downstreaming, and industrial development sectors. The strengthening of relations was also marked by the signing of the Indonesia–Eurasian Economic Union Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (I-EAEU CEPA), which opens wider market access for Indonesian products to the Eurasian region while strengthening trade, industrial, and investment cooperation. A number of concrete collaborations have also begun to be realised, including the signing of a Letter of Intent (LoI) between PT PAL Indonesia and Rosato for cooperation on floating nuclear power plants, as well as the exploration of cooperation between Pupuk Indonesia and Uralchem. Director General of Resilience, Regionalisation, and International Industrial Access at the Ministry of Industry, Tri Supondy, affirmed that Indonesia is targeting the event as the starting point for strengthening long-term partnerships with Eurasian countries. ‘We are not coming to Ekaterinburg just to introduce ourselves. With the strong foundation of bilateral relations that has been established, Indonesia is targeting INNOPROM 2026 as the starting point for long-term cooperation between Indonesia and Eurasian partners,’ he said.
