Industry Ministry Strengthens Strategic Cooperation via INNOPROM 2026
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) is strengthening strategic industrial cooperation with Russia and Eurasian nations through Indonesia’s participation as an Official Partner Country at INNOPROM 2026.
In a statement confirmed in Jakarta on Monday, Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita stated that the industrial relationship between Indonesia and Russia already possesses a strong foundation, which is now being directed towards more concrete and sustainable cooperation.
The largest international industrial exhibition in Eurasia, scheduled to take place from 6–9 July 2026 in Yekaterinburg, Russia, will be supported by 50 national industrial delegates.
According to the Minister, Indonesia’s participation in the event is a concrete step to strengthen industrial partnerships with Russia and Eurasian countries, while simultaneously opening opportunities for investment, manufacturing cooperation, and the expansion of export markets for national industrial products.
“The relationship between Indonesia and Russia in the industrial field has a strong foundation. What we are doing now is ensuring that this foundation develops into a concrete and sustainable partnership. INNOPROM 2026 serves as an important opportunity to bring industrial players from both countries together directly, increase investment, and open cooperation opportunities that provide real benefits for both parties,” he said.
As an Official Partner Country, Indonesia will present a national pavilion spanning more than 1,500 square metres, making it one of the largest pavilions at INNOPROM 2026.
Under the theme ‘Navigating Industrial Futures’, the pavilion will showcase five flagship sectors: agro-industry and food processing, chemical and pharmaceutical industries, specialised manufacturing and consumer goods, advanced manufacturing and engineering, as well as industrial zones and investment.
The Indonesian pavilion will also serve as a hub for various business activities, ranging from business matching and bilateral business forums to high-level meetings between ministerial-level delegations from both nations.
This strengthening of industrial cooperation is supported by the positive trend in economic relations between Indonesia and Russia. In 2025, the bilateral trade value between the two countries reached US$1.876 billion, while realised Russian investment in Indonesia was recorded at US$262.8 million, he explained.
Bilateral relations have continued to evolve in recent years. Following the meeting between President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin in December 2025, which resulted in various strategic understandings in the economic and industrial sectors, both leaders met again at the Kremlin in Moscow in April 2026 to strengthen cooperation in energy, investment, technology, downstreaming, and industrial development.
The strengthening of these ties is also marked by the signing of the Indonesia–Eurasian Economic Union Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (I-EAEU CEPA), which opens wider market access for Indonesian products to the Eurasian region while strengthening trade, industrial, and investment cooperation.
Several concrete collaborations are already being realised, including the signing of a Letter of Intent (LoI) between PT PAL Indonesia and Rosatom for cooperation in floating nuclear power plants, as well as exploratory cooperation between Pupuk Indonesia and Uralchem.
The Director General of Resilience, Regionality, and International Industrial Access at the Ministry of Industry, Tri Supondy, emphasised that Indonesia targets the event as a starting point for strengthening long-term partnerships with Eurasian nations.
“We are not going to Yekaterinburg merely to introduce ourselves; with the strong foundation of bilateral relations already established, Indonesia targets INNOPROM 2026 as the starting point for long-term cooperation between Indonesia and our Eurasian partners,” he said.
