Industry Minister Urges Accurate Data Submission for 2026 Economic Census
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita has urged industrial businesses, industrial estates, and domestic industry associations to submit accurate and complete data for the 2026 Economic Census organised by Statistics Indonesia (BPS). In a confirmed statement in Jakarta on Tuesday, the minister expressed his commitment to strengthening the national industrial data ecosystem as a foundation for formulating targeted and responsive economic policies. According to Menperin, accurate, complete, and up-to-date data is a strategic asset in supporting the acceleration of national industrialisation and enhancing the competitiveness of Indonesian industry. “Quality industrial data is the primary basis for drafting policies and industrial development programmes. With accurate data, the government can formulate targeted measures, strengthen data-driven decision-making, and respond to various economic and industrial dynamics more effectively,” said Menperin. To support this, the Ministry of Industry has developed the National Industrial Information System (SIINas) as the main platform for industrial data reporting. Through SIINas, the government obtains a more comprehensive and current picture of the industrial sector’s development. “We express our appreciation to all industrial companies and industrial estate companies that consistently submit data through SIINas. This commitment has helped the government build an increasingly robust and reliable national industrial data ecosystem,” Menperin stated. He explained that the obligation to submit industrial data is regulated in Law Number 3 of 2014 on Industry, Government Regulation Number 2 of 2017 on the Development of Industrial Facilities and Infrastructure, and Minister of Industry Regulation Number 13 of 2025 on Procedures for Submitting Industrial Data through SIINas.
