Indramayu Regent Speaks Out on Deputy Regent's Corruption Suspect Status

BUPATI Indramayu Lucky Hakim has spoken out regarding his deputy, Syaefudin, who has been named a suspect in a corruption case involving housing and transport allowances for leaders and members of the Indramayu Regency Regional House of Representatives (DPRD). Lucky Hakim admitted he received the news through media reports. “I found out from the media, and from a head of department who was also named as a suspect,” Lucky Hakim said in a statement on Monday (22/6/2026). “Since it was announced by the prosecutor’s office last week, although I had briefly read about the suspect determination on some social media,” he added. Lucky Hakim stressed that government operations in his region remain highly conducive despite Syaefudin’s status. “It is running normally, but we have transferred the deputy regent’s assignments to the regional secretary, because last week the deputy regent informed me he was unwell and unable to attend to his agenda,” he said. Meanwhile, the West Java High Prosecutor’s Office investigation team confirmed that the process of taking statements from the suspects is ongoing. “Today, in accordance with the summons we issued to suspect S… investigators at the West Java High Prosecutor’s Office are currently examining the suspect in the special crimes division, where the suspect is accompanied by legal counsel,” said Nur Sricahyawijaya when met at the West Java High Prosecutor’s Office on Monday (22/6/2026). “This is related to the alleged criminal act concerning housing allowances for members of the Indramayu Regency DPRD,” she concluded.
