Indramayu Regent Lucky Hakim Offers to Adopt Children Orphaned by Fatal Crash

Indramayu Regent Lucky Hakim has expressed his readiness to become the adoptive parent of children who lost their parents in a fatal accident on the Pantura route in Indramayu, West Java. The statement was made after he visited the funeral home and checked on victims still receiving treatment. Lucky said the tragedy, which killed 12 people, is not only a sorrow for the victims’ families but also for the entire community of Indramayu. “I, Lucky Hakim, as Regent of Indramayu, offer my deepest condolences and share in the grief of this incident. No matter how beautiful the words I convey, they will never be able to match the sadness of the families who have lost their loved ones,” he said. He also prayed for the deceased to be granted the best place by God and for the bereaved families to be given fortitude. “In this profound sorrow, I also offer my sincere prayers for the deceased, may they have a good end, and may Allah grant patience to the families left behind,” he said. In addition to expressing condolences, Lucky handed over compensation to the victims’ families as a form of concern from the Indramayu Regency Government. “Only a small amount of compensation we can give as a symbol of sharing in this deep sorrow,” he said. During his visit to the hospital, Lucky also paid special attention to two toddlers who survived the accident. The two children lost their mother, who was a single parent and died in the incident. According to Lucky, the local government will provide comprehensive assistance to the two children, ranging from physical to psychological recovery. “We will assist these children during their recovery process, not only physically but also mentally and psychologically. We are very serious about giving them attention,” he said. Furthermore, Lucky admitted he is ready to become the adoptive parent of the children who lost their parents in the accident. He stated he is prepared to follow all legal procedures if the family and guardians give their consent. “For the children left behind by their parents in this incident, I wholeheartedly agree to become their adoptive parent and am ready to undergo the formal adoption process if their guardians give their blessing,” he said.
