The Indramayu Regency Government (Pemkab) will trial work from home (WFH) starting this month. The trial is to follow up on instructions from the Ministry of Home Affairs regarding the implementation of work from home (WFH) for civil servants (ASN). “The WFH policy will begin a trial in April 2026 and is planned to be fully effective in May 2026,” stated Indramayu Regent Lucky Hakim on Tuesday (7/4). Lucky explained that he had directly communicated with Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Bima Arya Sugiarto regarding the technical implementation of the policy. Initially, Pemkab Indramayu proposed implementing WFH on Wednesdays. However, based on central government instructions, WFH must be carried out simultaneously every Friday. “I proposed WFH on Wednesday, but Mr Deputy Minister stated it must be simultaneous on Friday, because that day is not as busy as usual,” said Lucky. Lucky also admitted to inquiring about provisions for ASN on duty outside the area on WFH days. However, he continued, this cannot be done because the location-based (GPS) attendance system can only be accessed at each employee’s residence. “Attendance cannot be done outside the area. The system is integrated with GPS, so it can only be accessed from home according to the ASN’s domicile,” he clarified. Lucky exemplified that the WFH implementation has previously been applied in the City of Bogor. Therefore, Pemkab Indramayu will learn from that region before full implementation. “We have instructed Mr Secretary of the Regional Government to immediately follow up on the Minister of Home Affairs’ decision. We will also learn from the City of Bogor, which has already implemented this system,” said Lucky.
