Indramayu Police, West Java, have successfully uncovered a suspected criminal case of child exploitation and violations of the Pornography Law. In the case, not only the victims but also the perpetrators are still classified as teenagers. There are two suspects believed to be involved in the illegal online content network containing pornographic elements. They are NF (17 years old), a resident of Terisi Subdistrict, Indramayu Regency, and IL (21), from Koja, North Jakarta. “The two suspects have different roles, from recruitment to supervising the operational activities of the content,” said Indramayu Police Chief AKBP Mochamad Fajar Gemilang, accompanied by Head of Criminal Investigation AKP M Arwin Bachar, at the Indramayu Police Station on Wednesday (15/4/2026). He explained that the uncovering was a follow-up to a report received in early January 2026. The 17-year-old victim is suspected of being targeted for exploitation after being recruited by the perpetrators. The modus operandi employed by the perpetrators involved recruiting the victim with promises of a job in Jakarta as a live streaming host on one of the applications. The victim was promised high earnings of Rp 2 million to Rp 3 million per day. “The application contains sexual content featuring men and women engaging in sexual intercourse live,” said Fajar. Initially, the victim was only instructed to perform sensual movements live. However, the activities then progressed to live sexual intercourse on the application. If the income target from viewers was not met, the victim was required to continue the activities beyond reasonable working hours. The wages received by the victim were also not in accordance with the initial agreement, namely only Rp 500,000 per day. “During the live sessions, the victim was supervised by the suspect,” he said. In addition to arresting the suspects, the police also seized several pieces of evidence. Such as several mobile phones, lighting equipment or ring lights, identity documents, and other broadcasting support tools. In addition, digital evidence recordings have been secured for trial purposes. The suspects are charged under Article 76I in conjunction with Article 88 of the Republic of Indonesia Law No. 35 of 2014 on Child Protection, as well as Article 29 in conjunction with Article 4 paragraph 1 of the Republic of Indonesia Law No. 44 of 2008 on Pornography. “The prison sentence for child exploitation perpetrators is a maximum of 10 years, while for pornography violations involving children, the sentence can be increased by one-third from the maximum threat of 12 years in prison,” he said. Meanwhile, they are also developing the case to pursue another perpetrator with the initials MZ, who acts as the main operator and account owner in the network.
