Indramayu Crash Scene Investigation: Police Probe Exact Cause
The Traffic Directorate of the West Java Regional Police has conducted a crime scene investigation into a pickup truck accident carrying a group of wedding guests on the Pantura route in Kiajaran Kulon Village, Lohbener District, Indramayu Regency. The incident resulted in the deaths of 12 pickup truck passengers.
The police team reportedly carried out the crime scene investigation to collect physical evidence at the site in order to uncover the chronology and exact cause of the incident. Based on standard police procedure, the investigation was conducted by combing the accident area, measuring skid marks, and examining the final position of the vehicle involved. Officers at the scene also gathered statements from several eyewitnesses who were at the location when the incident occurred.
“We from the West Java Regional Police Traffic Directorate, together with the Traffic Accident Analysis team, are here to carry out a digital and scientific crime scene investigation to uncover the cause of this accident,” said the Head of the Law Enforcement Sub-Directorate of the West Java Regional Police, AKBP Jimmy, at the location on Monday (13/7/2026).
The police are focusing on several crucial factors in this accident. The public is urged to remain cautious when travelling on routes in the Indramayu area and to always obey traffic signs to avoid similar incidents. Information regarding the final results of the crime scene investigation will be conveyed by the local traffic unit after all data has been fully analysed.
