Indramayu Accelerates Construction of People's School, Targeting Capacity for 1,000 Students

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, INDRAMAYU — The Indramayu Regency Government has agreed with the Ministry of Public Works to accelerate the construction of the Sekolah Rakyat in the area. This programme is expected to expand access to decent education for children from low-income families.

Indramayu Regent Lucky Hakim stated that the Sekolah Rakyat will be located in Cikawung Village, Terisi Subdistrict. The location was determined following coordination between the local government and the central government.

The Sekolah Rakyat is designed as a boarding school capable of accommodating up to 1,000 students. The facilities will cover education levels from primary school to senior high school.

Lucky expressed his support for the acceleration of the construction. He views the collaboration between the local government and the Ministry of Public Works as a strategic step to improve education quality in the region.

“May the Sekolah Rakyat infrastructure be completed on time, providing a healthy, safe, and inspiring learning environment for the children of Indramayu,” said Lucky.

Toni Hendratno, from the West Java Strategic Infrastructure Implementation Unit, stated readiness to realise the construction. His side targets the work to be completed as quickly as possible so that the school can soon be utilised.

The construction of the Sekolah Rakyat in Indramayu is expected to become a solution for improving access to education while supporting the equitable distribution of human resource quality.
