Indra Kenz’s Taste of Freedom Was Brief
Indra Kesuma, also known as Indra Kenz, has been sent back to prison shortly after his release. He had only a brief taste of freedom, as his parole was revoked.
Indra Kenz was granted parole on 24 September 2026, a day after the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia uncovered luxury facilities at the prison. He was previously sentenced to 10 years in prison in connection with the Binomo investment fraud and money laundering. While on parole, he was required to report to the Bogor Correctional Centre once a month. He had served about five years of his 10-year sentence.
Tied to luxury facilities case
The Inspector General of the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections recommended that the Directorate General of Corrections revoke Indra Kenz’s parole.
Rudi said the recommendation followed an internal investigation launched after the Ombudsman found luxury facilities at Cibinong Class IIA Prison on Wednesday, 23 September.
“Indra Kusuma (Indra Kenz): revocation of parole has been recommended to the Directorate General of Corrections,” Rudi said.
According to Rudi, the investigation found suspected abuse of authority, irregularities in the reporting of state-owned goods, and breaches of several standard operating procedures at Cibinong Prison.
Investigators found three containers at the prison recorded as state-owned assets. They contained luxury facilities provided by inmates, including Indra Kenz.
Returned to prison
Indra Kenz was returned to Tangerang Class I Prison on 8 October 2026, meaning he had been free for only a few days.
Ishadi Maja Prayitno, head of the Rehabilitation and Services Division at the West Java Regional Office of the Directorate General of Corrections, said the parole revocation had been acted upon. Officials collected Indra Kenz from the place where he was serving parole and transferred him to Tangerang Class I Prison.
“We picked him up at 11.30am and set off for Tangerang Prison; at 2.30pm he had just arrived at Tangerang Class I Prison,” Ishadi said, as quoted by Antara on Thursday, 8 October 2026.
Indra Kenz’s parole was reviewed after he was suspected of involvement in arranging luxury facilities in a special prison block at Cibinong. The Directorate General of Corrections at the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections revoked his parole following the Ombudsman’s findings.
“Indra Kenz was also cooperative and accepted the decision to revoke his parole decree,” Ishadi added.
