As the Director of Indosterling, the suspect SWH has previously served a 10-year sentence at the Sukamiskin Class I Prison in West Java, along with a fine of Rp 10 billion for banking crimes. The police are now proceeding with the money laundering (TPPU) charges linked to that case.
Based on the investigation conducted by Bareskrim, holders of High-Yield Promissory Notes (HYPN) deposited their funds directly into several accounts held under the name of PT Indosterling Optima Investa. Four different accounts were used to collect these funds.
The suspect, SWH, utilised the funds in these accounts for various purposes, including the payment of fixed interest or coupons to HYPN holders, the redemption of principal amounts for HYPN holders, the payment of commissions to approximately 500 agents, as well as operational costs and employee salaries.
“Funds were transferred to accounts of affiliated companies under the leadership of the suspect SWH, transferred to accounts of individuals instructed by SWH, and transferred to SWH’s personal accounts, which were subsequently used to purchase assets,” he added.
Law enforcement officials have seized assets belonging to the suspect, including eight units of land and buildings, as well as five four-wheeled vehicles.
