Indosat Targets 1,100 5G Signal Points in Bali by End of 2026

PT Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison Regional Bali-Nusra is targeting 1,100 5G signal points in Bali by the end of 2026. To date, 5G coverage spans 660 points across the island. “We at Indosat continue to expand 5G coverage points, with a commitment to reach 1,100 points by year-end,” said VP Head of Technology Java Indosat, Sugeng Rumawan, during a media update in Denpasar on Wednesday (15/7/2026). Sugeng explained that future 5G additions will cover the education sector, public transport hubs, and tourist destinations. Based on Indosat user data, data traffic has also seen an increase. Consequently, Indosat aims to boost its capacity fourfold by the end of 2026 compared to current levels. “5G traffic has increased by more than 30 per cent in four months,” he revealed. Sugeng noted that during a family holiday, everyone was actively using the internet, underscoring the need for capacity expansion to maintain signal quality. Going forward, Indosat also plans to increase signal penetration indoors and within buildings. “So that anyone visiting Bali can remain connected to the internet while indoors,” Sugeng stated. Indosat 5G is currently available on the islands of Bali and Lombok. Sugeng said there are 19 sub-districts covered, comprising 12 in Bali and seven in Lombok. “And this will continue to grow by expanding that 5G coverage,” he added.
