INDOSAT Ooredoo Hutchison (Indosat/IOH) has ensured that telecommunications services during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 2026 remain connected, particularly in the Circle Jakarta Raya and West Java operational areas. Network strengthening is being undertaken to anticipate surges in data traffic during the holy month and the Eid exodus.

The Circle Jakarta Raya area covers Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi, Karawang, Banten, and West Java. Indosat said it has strengthened the network on more than 75 mudik routes and hundreds of strategic points across Indonesia.

EVP-Head of Circle Jakarta Raya Indosat, Swandi Tjia, said the company is promoting the ‘You Only Need One’ (YONO) spirit in the LebihBaikIndosat campaign during Ramadan.

‘We believe that at the most important moment, the public only needs one connection that can truly be relied upon, with a strong network, secure digital capabilities, and genuine care,’ Swandi said.

He noted that the highest traffic surge in the Circle Jakarta Raya area was recorded in Bogor, Tangerang, Sukabumi, and Garut, with increases of 18 to 47 percent. The region is the focus of network optimisation to keep customers connected as digital needs rise.

‘The outer Jakarta area will be the focus of strengthening. We are ensuring a stable digital experience for customers throughout Ramadan to Eid al-Fitr,’ he said.

Indosat, through brands IM3, Tri, and HiFi Air, also offers a range of services, from internet data packages to fixed-network household services.

In addition to network strengthening, Indosat anticipates a rise in digital crime ahead of Eid. SVP-Head of Region West Java Indosat, Mgs. Moh. Ali Safitri, said the potential for fraud typically increases when people receive the Tunjangan Hari Raya (THR).

‘The trend of digital crime is not new, but its frequency is increasing. On the run-up to Eid, when people receive THR and have more budget, the potential for fraud also rises,’ Ali said.

He explained that the fraud methods typically involve telephone calls, SMS, and messaging apps. Consequently, Indosat has introduced the SatSpam digital-protection feature for IM3 and Tri customers.

‘SatSpam provides early warnings against unknown numbers suspected of fraud or suspicious activity. The feature protects not only ordinary voice calls but also WhatsApp and SMS calls,’ he explained.

Ali emphasised that the SatSpam system is backed by artificial intelligence (AI) technology capable of identifying and categorising numbers by risk, such as fraud, marketing, or promotions.

‘With AI support, our system can recognise patterns typical of fraud. Customers will receive earlier notifications as a preventive step,’ he said.

Ali stressed that the protection service is free for all IM3 and Tri customers. Customers who use internet data from either brand automatically receive SatSpam protection.

Indosat hopes that through network strengthening and digital protection, the public can observe Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 2026 with stable connectivity and free from communication disruptions or cybercrime threats.
