Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison Hosts Indonesia AI Day to Drive Digital Transformation in Mining Sector

Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (Indosat/IOH) held the Indonesia AI Day for Mining Industry as part of its commitment to supporting the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) in the mining sector. The event carried the theme "Navigating the Future of Indonesia's Mining Industry" and was attended by industry players, regulators, and global technology partners.

Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM, Rosan Roeslani, expressed his appreciation for the initiative. "AI has become a strategic necessity to enhance the competitiveness of the mining sector and the green energy transition. The government will promote policies and human resources development related to AI," he said.

Vikram Sinha, President Director and CEO of Indosat, emphasised the role of technology in industrial transformation. "We want to build a smart, safe, and sustainable mining ecosystem to support inclusive economic growth," he explained.

The event also featured keynote speakers including representatives from McKinsey and Company, Meutya Hafid (Minister of Communications and Information), Rachmat Makkasau (President Director of PT Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara), and Tri Winarno (Director General of Minerals and Coal at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources) to discuss the digitalisation roadmap for the mining sector.

Through cross-sector collaboration, Indosat is seeking to strengthen a globally competitive digital mining ecosystem.
