Indosat Launches 5G in Bali and Lombok to Ease Content Creation While on Holiday

PT Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison has launched its Indosat 5G service in Bali and Lombok. EVP Head of Circle Java Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, Fahd Yudhanegoro, stated that Bali and Nusa Tenggara, particularly Lombok, possess distinctive digital characteristics. He observed the presence of digital nomads who need to remain productive wherever they are, including while on holiday. “Tourists who want to seek and share new experiences via live streaming, as well as people who are increasingly active in enjoying entertainment and creating content. We want Indosat 5G to be present close to that digital rhythm, not only as a technological innovation but also to accompany the excitement of customers’ daily digital rhythm,” Fahd said during the Indosat 5G Media Update in Denpasar on Wednesday. The experience was demonstrated live by connecting with the Indosat team on Gili Trawangan, Lombok, NTB, where the utilisation of 5G felt very fast during online communication. SVP Head of Region Bali-Nusra Indosat, Juliandi George Fransiskus, said Indosat is providing a wider 5G network to make internet access easier and more comfortable. According to him, the internet is now integral to people’s daily activities, from creating content and searching for information to live streaming. “Going forward, I think 5G should expand even further, not only in Bali and Lombok, perhaps later to East Nusa Tenggara and other parts of West Nusa Tenggara. That is the next challenge,” Juliandi explained. He added that the presence of Indosat 5G is based on increasing user data traffic. In Bali, he sees a high number of foreign tourists using the service. “Because we also see more tourists using it, and at international airports, most of them buy our cards. The growth is double digits for tourists,” he revealed. He claimed Indosat can provide ease and comfort of access for foreign tourists. “The comparison in development is quite significant. So it cannot be underestimated,” Juliandi concluded.
