JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - PT Indosaku Digital Teknologi has stated that it has terminated its working relationship with a rogue debt collector involved in alleged debt collection violations in Semarang, Central Java. In addition, Indosaku has also halted cooperation with the third-party debt collection service company related to the matter. This step was taken following a special examination conducted by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) on the online lending company. As a follow-up, the company has also deactivated all collection activities from the involved party and is conducting an internal investigation and audit of all collection partners. “The actions of the rogue individual do not reflect the values, code of ethics, standard operating procedures, or policies implemented by Indosaku,” the management wrote in a press release on Tuesday (28/4/2026). This measure was taken after OJK summoned Indosaku and AFPI on Monday (27/4/2026) regarding allegations of debt collection process violations by a rogue debt collector linked to an incident of a false fire report to the Semarang City Fire Department (Damkar). Head of Operations and Rescue at the Semarang City Fire Department, Tantri Pradono, said that they initially received a report of a fire at a nasi goreng stall. “Reporting that the nasi goreng stall was on fire,” said Tantri, quoted from Kompas.com. In response to the report, the fire department team immediately dispatched a fire engine unit to the location, as procedures require officers to arrive quickly. However, upon arrival at the site, the officers found no fire. After confirming with the stall owner, it was revealed that the owner had an unpaid online loan since 2020. “When I confirmed with the nasi goreng owner, he said he had an online loan,” she stated. Tantri assessed that the action harmed the institution and had the potential to disrupt the handling of other emergencies.
