We refer to Mr PH Lyssens' complaint in The Jakarta Post, Dec.
16, 1994 regarding the Economist subscription.

We would like to explain to you that the subscription copies
and the Newsstand copies are different. Newsstand copies are not
wrapped in polybag whilst subscription copies are wrapped and
labeled with subscribers' names.

For your information, the Economist copies arrive in Jakarta
on Friday afternoon and are sent to all subscribers the next day
upon release. Your copy is sent by post to your area on Saturday
or Monday.

It is not true Mr Lyssens that we are taking the unsold copies
for the subscribers as the unsold copies will be taken after we
supply the new issues.
