According to an official statement, Raka visited the bridge project in Kuta Blang Sub-district, Bireuen District, on Thursday.

The Krueng Tingkeum Bridge is a key transport link supporting mobility and economic activity in Bireuen District.

An emergency bridge currently allows alternating one-way traffic, while the visit aimed to accelerate completion of the permanent bridge and restore normal traffic flow.

Raka received a progress briefing from Aceh National Road Implementation Agency (BPJN) Head Zulkarnain upon arriving at the site.

The project is 80.5 percent complete and has entered the structural installation phase, with completion targeted by the end of 2026.

“We expect to complete the structural connection and make the bridge operational by the end of December. We are working toward that target, Mr. Vice President,” Zulkarnain said.

Raka reviewed construction progress, temporary bridge operations and plans to normalize the adjacent river channel.

He said he wanted to assess conditions firsthand, monitor recovery efforts and hear from affected residents to ensure the government’s response met community needs.

Raka also thanked central and regional authorities, the Indonesian military, police, volunteers and local residents for their cooperation during the recovery effort.

He said community cooperation was invaluable, but ensuring safe and functional infrastructure remained the government’s responsibility.

After the briefing, Raka inspected the bridge construction site.

The visit was part of government efforts to keep strategic post-disaster recovery projects on schedule, restore mobility and support the local economy.
