Indonesia's UNESCO Tentative List Sites Include Old Jakarta
Indonesia has multiple sites on UNESCO’s Tentative List for potential World Heritage status. ‘Countries are encouraged to submit their Tentative Lists, which include sites they consider to have Outstanding Universal Value (OUV) and are therefore worthy of consideration for inclusion in the World Heritage List,’ according to UNESCO’s official statement, reported on Monday (25 February 2026). Countries are also urged to review and resubmit sites to the Tentative List at least every 10 years.
Across Indonesia, from west to east, UNESCO’s official website lists several sites on the Tentative List with submission dates. The full list is as follows:
