Indonesia's Tourism Quality Highly Recognised by Chinese Market
Shanghai - Indonesia has recently secured two prestigious awards at the 19th China Travel Awards. Alongside Australia, Maldives, South Africa, Thailand, and Turkey, Indonesia was named ‘Best Country Destination 2025’. Bali was also recognised as one of the ‘Best Regional Destination 2025’. The accolades reflect high recognition from the Chinese market for Indonesia’s natural scenery, quality tourism offerings, cultural heritage, and unique experiences.
The awards were presented by Chinese travel magazine Travel+Leisure. The China Travel Awards is an annual event honouring excellence in the lifestyle and tourism industries. Winners undergo rigorous evaluation by industry experts, tourism journalists, and public voting by Chinese travellers.
Indonesian Consul General in Shanghai Berlianto Situngkir stated: ‘These awards demonstrate Indonesia’s tourism industry has strong competitiveness. Last year’s ceremony saw Bali also chosen as the top destination. Indonesia’s inclusion among the best destinations means its tourism quality is highly acknowledged by international travellers.’
According to reports, this achievement aligns with the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism’s priority programmes, which aim to provide higher-quality tourism services to attract high-end tourists. Through plans prioritising quality tourism development, the Indonesian government is committed to continuously enhancing the value of the national tourism industry.
The China Travel Awards victory further boosts Indonesia’s confidence in attracting more international travellers seeking premium and authentic travel experiences.
