Indonesia's Q2 2026 Investment Realisation Reaches Rp511.8 Trillion, Absorbing 742,000 Workers
The Ministry of Investment/BKPM recorded that Indonesia’s investment realisation in the second quarter of 2026 reached Rp511.8 trillion, an increase of 7.1 percent compared to the same period last year. This achievement is equivalent to 25.1 percent of the 2026 national investment target of Rp2,041.3 trillion. Minister of Investment Rosan Roeslani stated that the investment entering the second quarter of the year amounted to Rp511.8 trillion, a 7.1 percent increase. He explained that in the first quarter of 2026, investment realisation was recorded at Rp498.8 trillion, or around 24.4 percent of the annual target. Thus, the total investment realised throughout the first half of 2026 has reached Rp1,010.6 trillion. In addition to driving investment growth, the second quarter realisation also had an impact on employment. BKPM recorded that the investment was able to absorb 742,263 workers, an increase of 5.1 percent compared to the same period the previous year. In terms of capital sources, the composition of investment remains relatively balanced. Domestic Investment (PMDN) contributed 49.6 percent, while Foreign Investment (PMA) contributed 50.4 percent of the total investment realisation in the second quarter of 2026. For PMA by region, North Maluku was the largest investment destination with a value of Rp39.5 trillion, followed by Central Sulawesi with Rp34.4 trillion, or about 13.3 percent of total PMA. On the PMDN side, DKI Jakarta recorded the highest realisation at Rp58.6 trillion, followed by West Java at Rp26.9 trillion, and East Java at Rp26.8 trillion. Based on business sector, the basic metals, metal goods, non-machinery, and equipment industry was the largest contributor with an investment value of Rp81 trillion, or 15.8 percent of total investment in the second quarter. The next positions were occupied by the transport, warehousing, and telecommunications sector at Rp57.3 trillion, followed by the mining sector at Rp53.1 trillion, other services, and trade and repair.
