JAKARTA – The Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) recorded that Indonesia's investment realisation in the second quarter of 2025 reached Rp477.7 trillion.

Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM Rosan P. Roeslani explained that from April to June 2025, investment realisation grew 11.5% compared with the same period last year (year-on-year), which stood at Rp428.4 trillion.

Rosan noted that in terms of regional investment contribution, investment outside Java was recorded higher than in Java, at 50.3% or Rp240.2 trillion and 49.7% or Rp237.5 trillion respectively.

"Previously, much of the concentration was in Java. Now it is more evenly distributed across all regions, so that new economic growth and job creation are spreading more widely," he said at a press conference on Tuesday (29/7/2025).

In line with the increase in investment inflows during Q2 2025, BKPM also recorded a rise in employment absorption to 665,764 persons, up from 594,104 in the first quarter of 2025.

Of the total realisation, Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) was recorded at Rp202.2 trillion or 42.3% of the total, whilst Domestic Direct Investment (DDI) reached Rp275.5 trillion or 57.7%.

"If we look at the difference between domestic and foreign investment, it has not been far apart, but the increase in domestic investment has been quite good. Thankfully, domestic investment's contribution is higher," he said.
